Google, Apple, other vaguely familiar tech names top Nielsen's 'Tops of 2011' list

Those perpetual rankers over at Nielsen unveiled their "Tops of 2011" list this week, revealing the most popular brands and products across all manner of categories. There's nothing particularly shocking over on the digital side of things -- Google topped the list of Top US Web Brands, followed by Facebook. Perhaps a bit more surprisingly, Yahoo managed to hold its own in 2011, rounding out the top three. Over on the smartphone side, Apple came out on top with a 29 percent marketshare in data pulled from August to October 2011, followed by HTC. Despite a fairly tough year, RIM managed the number three spot. On the social side, Facebook scored number one, followed by Blogger and Twitter, while some site called "YouTube" was ranked number one in video. Check out the rest of the results in the source link below.

Targeted therapy extends progression-free survival of patients with advanced ovarian cancer

ScienceDaily (Dec. 29, 2011) ? Targeted drugs, which block or disrupt particular molecules involved in the growth of tumors, have been shown to be effective treatments against many types of cancer. A new phase 3 clinical trial conducted by the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) showed that a targeted therapy called bevacizumab (Avastin) effectively delayed the progression of advanced ovarian cancer. Patients with newly diagnosed advanced ovarian cancer now typically undergo surgery and chemotherapy, but the new research suggests an additional avenue of treatment.

The results of the trial appear in the December 29 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

"This approach can be looked upon as a third major component of treatment for ovarian cancer and related malignancies," says Robert A. Burger, MD, lead investigator on the GOG study and director of the Women's Cancer Center at Fox Chase Cancer Center. "We've had the combination of surgical management and cytotoxic chemotherapy for many years, but we haven't really seen anything else in terms of a fundamental class of treatment. This represents a new way for us to control the disease."

The placebo-controlled study, which was sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, enrolled 1,873 patients with previously untreated advanced disease from 336 sites, primarily in the United States, but also in Canada, South Korea, and Japan. The patients either had stage III ovarian cancer that could not be entirely removed with surgery, or stage IV disease, and were randomly assigned to one of three groups. For patients who received bevacizumab with chemotherapy followed by bevacizumab for up to an additional 10 months, the median time until their cancer progressed was 14.1 months, compared to 10.3 months for patients in the control group, who received chemotherapy with a placebo and then continued with a placebo. The net effect was a 28% reduction in the risk of disease of ovarian cancer progression over time. Patients who received bevacizumab only with chemotherapy, but not afterward, had a median progression-free survival of 11.2 months.

The National Cancer Institute estimates that nearly 22,000 women were diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011, and more than 15,000 died of the disease. For patients diagnosed before the cancer has spread, the five-year relative survival rate is about 93 percent (relative survival measures survival of cancer only, independent of other causes of death). But ovarian cancer is insidious -- early symptoms, like bloating, abdominal pain, and trouble eating, are typical of many illnesses and easily dismissed as non-threatening. Women often do not learn they have the disease until it's already spread. In 62 percent of new cases, the patient's cancer has metastasized to distant sites, and the five-year survival rate is just under 27 percent.

Bevacizumab is already FDA-approved for use against some types of colon, lung, kidney and brain cancers; its accelerated approval for metastatic breast cancer was recently revoked by the FDA. The drug acts by binding with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a protein produced by certain cancers that helps initiate the growth of new blood vessels that feed the tumor. The process of growing new blood vessels is called angiogenesis, and bevacizumab is an angiogenesis inhibitor.

"Bevacizumab blocks the growth factor VEGF, which is important in the process of ovarian cancer progression," says Burger, "and we've seen that this drug is also active in patients with recurrent disease."

Angiogenesis happens at the interface between the host and the disease, which makes it an appealing target for treatment, says Burger, who also led the Phase II GOG study on using bevacizumab in women with recurrent ovarian cancer. He says different ovarian cancers may appear identical under the microscope but differ biologically, which means they'll respond differently to treatment.

In the NEJM paper, Burger and his co-authors point out that another ovarian cancer trial conducted primarily in Europe called ICON7 demonstrated positive results in using becavizumab in combination with chemotherapy and then continued for up to 7 months.

PFT: Cardinals' Peterson escapes serious injury

Tom BradyAP

Eighteen games remain in the 2011 NFL season: Bears-Packers tonight, Falcons-Saints tomorrow and 16 games on New Year?s Day. Here?s a rundown of how each team still in contention can have its playoff position affected by the results of those 18 games:

Patriots: Clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs by beating Buffalo or by having both the Ravens and Steelers lose.

Ravens: Clinch the AFC North and a first-round bye with a win or a Steelers loss. Clinch home-field advantage with a win and a Patriots loss.

Steelers: Clinch the AFC North with a win and a Ravens loss. Clinch home-field advantage with a win, a Ravens loss and a Patriots loss.

Texans: Locked into the AFC No. 3 seed. Week 17 is meaningless to Houston, and the Texans may rest many of their key players.

Broncos: Clinch the AFC West and the No. 4 seed by beating the Chiefs, or a Raiders loss.

Raiders: Clinch the AFC West and the No. 4 seed by beating the Chargers and a Broncos loss. If the Broncos win, the Raiders can still get a wild card if they win and the Bengals lose, plus either the Titans lose or the Jets win.

Bengals: Clinch a playoff spot and the No. 6 seed if they win, or if the Jets lose and either the Raiders or Broncos lose.

Jets: Get the No. 6 seed if they win and the Bengals and Titans and either the Raiders or Broncos lose.

Titans: Get the No. 6 seed if they win and the Bengals lose, plus either the Jets win and the Broncos or Raiders lose, or the Jets lose and the Broncos and Raiders both win.

Packers: Clinch home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs if they beat either the Bears tonight or the Lions next week, or if the 49ers lose next week.

49ers: Clinch a first-round bye with a win next week or the Saints losing either on Monday night or next week. The 49ers can still get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if they win and the Packers lose to both the Bears and the Lions.

Saints: Clinch the NFC South if they win either of their two remaining games, and they could even clinch the NFC South if they lose both of their remaining games, if the Falcons lose in Week 17. The Saints can?t get home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs, but they can get a first-round bye if they win both their remaining games and the 49ers lose next week.

Cowboys/Giants: Next Sunday night?s game is essentially a playoff game: The Cowboys-Giants winner wins the NFC East and is the No. 4 seed, while the loser?s season is over. If the game ends in a tie, the Giants win the division.

Falcons: The Falcons can clinch a playoff spot tonight by the Packers beating the Bears. They need just one more win or one more Chicago loss to get to the playoffs. They could still win the NFC South, but only if they beat the Saints Monday night and win next week, plus the Saints lose next week.

Lions: Detroit is an NFC wild card. Whether they?re the No. 5 or No. 6 seed depends on the results of their own game with the Packers and the Falcons? remaining games.

Bears: Chicago can still make the playoffs, but only if they win both their remaining games and the Falcons lose both their remaining games.

Nokia responds to questions over Symbian name swap

Nokia seems to have finally realized that it can't just kill off a long-standing name like Symbian with a mere three-word mention (in parentheses) on its official blog. It's now posted up a marginally more detailed statement in response to "heaps of questions" from Nokia fans about the name change, and it reads as follows:

"We are still using Symbian Belle with some audiences like developers but now we also have the flexibility of using Nokia Belle when referring to our greatest and latest Symbian software update."

There, that should clear it up. Or maybe not. The idea of switching between different names for the same product might be considered bad branding, and the notion of developers being an "audience" is confusing too. But what more can you expect from a single sentence? In other news, the update also clarified that Nokia/Symbian Belle will be coming to the Nokia 500, along with the devices mentioned yesterday, and that it's delay until February 2012 was due to this being a "major software update" that will "make such a big difference in the user experience."

Little to no Christmas snow in northern US

Dreams of a white Christmas are hanging by a thread in the North, where unusually mild weather has left the ground bare in many places ? a welcome reprieve for people who don't like shoveling, but a lump of coal in the stockings of outdoor sports buffs who miss their winter wonderland.

From New England to the Dakotas and even parts of the Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest, snowfall has been well below normal through the fall and early winter with cold air bottled up over Canada. Golf courses were open this week in Minneapolis, which a year ago was digging out from a storm that dumped more than 17 inches of snow and collapsed the Metrodome roof. Many downhill ski resorts are making snow to compensate for nature's stinginess.

"It's been an amazingly slow start to the winter for everybody," said Mike Boguth, a National Weather Service forecaster in Gaylord, Mich., a resort town that has had only about 2 inches of natural snow this year.

La Nina, the cooling of the equatorial Pacific Ocean that affects weather worldwide, has nudged the jet stream farther north. Air pressure over the northern Atlantic has steered storm systems away from the East Coast.

The trends have resulted in the least snow New England has seen in November and December since the late 1990s, said Eric Evenson, a weather service meteorologist in Burlington, Vt. Snow totals across the region are 4 to 14 inches below normal, he said.

Williston, N.D., where more than 5 inches would have accumulated by now in a typical December, has gotten nothing. A couple of inches fell farther south in Bismarck but melted. Montana's mountain snowpack is about 30 percent below average. Ski resorts in Washington state have gotten little snow since Thanksgiving.

Even snowy Michigan is feeling the pinch. Parts of the state regularly get more than 100 inches a year as clouds suck up moisture from the Great Lakes and deposit it over land. It's been sparse this year, although light snow fell Friday and forecasters said sections of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota might get the 1 inch required to qualify as a white Christmas.

Light flurries and temperatures around 30 degrees are expected Christmas Day in Green Bay, Wis., where the Packers will host the Chicago Bears. That's downright balmy for Lambeau Field, the notorious "frozen tundra" that has hosted a fair share of NFL games in bitter cold and pelting snow.

A storm system moving up from the Gulf coast may sprinkle up to 3 inches of snow in sections of the Northeast by Christmas, but it probably won't last long, Evenson said.

Along with painting the landscape in dreary shades of brown and gray instead of the usual white, the abnormally mild winter has affected the economy.

Local governments have spent less on plowing and salting roads. Gogebic County, in the snow belt of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is about $100,000 better off than at this time a year ago, although road commission manager Darren Pionk said the savings might be short-lived.

"One or two bad months, and it can disappear pretty quickly," he said.

Some businesses geared toward the winter are having a hard time. Mike Pobuda of Empire, Mich., keeps busy plowing residential and commercial driveways in a typical winter. These days, the phone isn't ringing. He's working at a convenience store to help pay the bills.

"It was already tight out there and now it's tighter," Pobuda said.

In Sioux Falls, S.D., hardware store owner Dallas Vanden Bos said it's taken all season to sell as many bags of snow and ice melting materials as customers usually buy in one day.

The outdoor recreation industry is making the best of things. Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vt., installed about 40 high-efficiency snowmaking machines this year and immediately put them to work making 18 of the property's 111 trails suitable for skiing and snowboarding, president and majority owner Win Smith said.

But smaller operations that can't afford snowmaking may suffer if the snow shortage lasts much longer, said Lisa Marshall, spokeswoman for the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.

"It could be make-or-break for them," she said.

Not everyone regrets that snow has been mostly a no-show, especially people who hate driving on slick roads and shoveling walks and driveways.

In Minneapolis, more than 100 people braved borderline freezing temperatures this week for a rare opportunity to play golf in December. Mike Schneider, a 70-year-old retiree, carried a handful of tees he had whittled to needle-sharp points so they would penetrate the frosty turf at Parkview Golf Club.

A fellow golfer, Jim Jorgensen, said there were advantages to playing in the cold. For one thing, freezing eliminates water hazards.

"It just skips across," Jorgensen said. "You don't have to worry about losing the ball."

New S Korea coach less than thrilled about new job

SEOUL - There were no mentions of dreams fulfilled or patriotic honour when Choi Kang-hee reluctantly accepted the job as South Korea's new national team coach.

Rarely has a man entrusted with such a position looked less excited to be given the chance to lead his country to the World Cup. In his first press conference in his new role today, Choi looked like he had been dragged into the hot seat.

He was content coaching Jeonbuk Motors in the mid-sized provincial city of Jeonju in Korea's rural southwest, but now the taciturn tactician is charged with the task of leading an expectant nation to Brazil in 2014 and an eighth successive appearance on the global stage.

Choi, 52, was the longest serving club coach in the domestic K-league, and since 2005 had slowly turned Jeonbuk into the best team in the country and one of the best in Asia. The former international player led the Motors to the 2006 Asian Champions League title and the final of the 2011 version, when the team dominated the match against Al Sadd of Qatar only to lose after a penalty shootout.

Four days after Choi lifted the K-League trophy for the second time with the club on Dec 4, the Korea Football Association fired Cho Kwang-rae in the wake of a shocking 2-1 defeat away to Lebanon.

Even before Cho's dismissal, the KFA contacted Choi to offer him the job. He refused, the first of a number of times he turned down advances from the association.

"Even a week ago, I didn't even think one per cent that I would be here," said Choi. "I had promised the fans and players of Jeonbuk that I would sign a new contract with the club. I changed my mind as I felt the national team is in a serious crisis."

Choi had earlier left a lengthy message on Jeonbuk's home page promising fans that it was not a goodbye but a see-you-later and was at pains to point out that he was not a long-term appointment.

"My contract will be until June 2013, and then I hope to return to my club," he said. "For the sake of the national team, Korea should find an experienced foreign manager."

Choi's words contradicted those of KFA executive director Kim Jin-kook who earlier told reporters that if the new coach took the team through qualification, he would stay on for another year.

Such a contradiction capped a confusing two weeks during which damaged the KFA's reputation.

The decision to appoint the reluctant Choi was described by sections of the local media as yet another example of the powerful national association riding roughshod over the domestic league.

Fans on internet forums have debated the Hyundai connection. Many of the top-ranked KFA executives have backgrounds with the conglomerate; Hyundai also sponsors the league and owns Jeonbuk Motors, Choi's employer.

South Korea hosts Kuwait on February 29 in Seoul. Defeat in that match and the 2002 World Cup semifinalists could be eliminated from Asian qualification at the penultimate round. A draw will seal a place in the final stage of qualification.

After appearances in every World Cup since 1986, the nation expects no less. AP

Sony Develops Paper Powered Battery

In what could be termed as a potentially ground breaking technology, Japan based technology superstar Sony Corp. has unveiled a brand new paper powered battery prototype.

According to the company, the new technology invented by its researchers generates electricity by extracting sugar out of shredded paper, which in turn can be used as a fuel.

When, and if introduced in the consumer market, the new technology could see mobile users powering their devices using waste material only. The team which planned and implemented on this new technology claims that these bio-batteries will be pretty much environment friendly as no harmful metal or chemicals are used during their manufacturing process.

Sony also allowed fans to have a sneak peek at the new invention at the recently held Eco-Products exhibition hosted by Tokyo. "Using a 'fuel' as simple as old greetings cards - the sort of cards that millions of us will be receiving this Christmas - the bio battery can deliver enough energy to power a small fan," Yuichi Tokita, senior researcher at Sony's Advanced Material Research Lab, explained, BBC News reports.

"Of course, this is still at the very early stages of its development, but when you imagine the possibilities that this technology could deliver, it becomes very exciting indeed," he added.

PFT: Hester says signing McNabb 'a waste of time'

Bears v DolphinsGetty Images

Former Raiders and Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden has been the subject of plenty of articles.? Most recently, he served as the subject of a comprehensive profile in The New Yorker.

It?s a lengthy article, and I actually read the whole thing.? Which means it?s good; otherwise, the adult ADD would have kicked in within the first few paragraphs.

Still, something was missing.

The article points out that Gruden routinely is ?criticized for overpraising players? publicly, but also points out that, in private settings, Gruden displays far less charity.

Writes Kelefa Sanneh of Gruden:? ?He is forever judging players who don?t or can?t excel ? ?slapdicks,? he calls them, or, more familiarly, ?slappies.?? A defensive lineman gets shoved back on his heels and collapses, too calmly, onto the turf.? ?He just looks like he?s enjoying this, getting blocked,? Gruden says.? Three receivers run malformed routes, and they all end up in the same throwing lane. ?That?s horrific,? Gruden says.? An offensive tackle dives halfheartedly at the feet of a defender, who leaps over him and knocks down the quarterback. ?I can?t take it,? Gruden says.?

So why the disconnect between the public and private persona?? ?His enthusiasm isn?t meant to fool the fans,? Sanneh writes, ?it?s meant to motivate and inspire them, as if they were players.?

Even if that isn?t a large chunk of baloney (and it probably is), the article overlooks the most prevalent theory regarding Gruden?s homage to Harvey Dent.? Many believe that Gruden fully intends to coach again, and that his ?everyone is the greatest? routine is aimed at ensuring that no bridges are burned, so that he?ll have maximum options ? and leverage ? when he decides to return.

It?s clear he?ll return.? ?I miss it a ton,? Gruden told Sanneh.? ?In some ways, I can?t believe I?m not a coach.?

And I can?t believe that a lengthy profile of Gruden was written without pointing out the possibility that his lack of authenticity in the broadcast booth flows from that desire to return to the sidelines under the best possible conditions.

Gruden was at it again on Monday night, chiding on-air partner Ron Jaworski for being ?the most negative guy I?ve ever met? after Jaws expressed an opinion that the Chargers won?t turn around their current 4-7 record.? Gruden then proceeded to apply his lips to the buttocks of Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, rattling off Rivers? record in the months of December and January and eventually encouraging him to tune out ?negative people? like Jaworski.

It makes sense.? With the Chargers reportedly poised to fire Norv Turner, there?s a chance that Gruden will be Rivers? next head coach.

Video: Trump: I?d consider an independent run

>>> donald trump is our next guest and joins us exclusively. he's out with a new book called "time to get tough, making america number one again." donald, it's good to see you.

>> good morning, matt. tell chuck todd it will only help.

>> you said you were going to host this debate december 27th . you heard george say people should say away from this. ron paul says it's beneath the office of the presidency. he went on to say it contributes to a, quote, unwanted circus-like atmosphere and people surrounding jon huntsman called this the presidential apprentice debate with the donald. do you think other candidates will stay away ?

>> no, i don't. i think most candidates will join and i think those two candidates have zero chance of being elected so it makes no difference. ron paul says iran should have nuclear weapons are can have nuclear weapons and doesn't even think in terms of israel. i think they are joke candidates and they are doing poorly. mr. huntsman is doing extremely poorly in the polls and gives more air time to those that have a chance of being elected.

>> do you think the other candidates might agree you have them exactly where you want them? a lot of them stop by looking for your approval or support. that would be a wasted effort if they snub you or don't show up at your debate.

>> a lot of top rips ask -- republicans asked me to do the debate. we're doing it with news max and i have millions of people that follow me because they're tired of seeing this country, our great country, the united states , getting ripped off by china, by opec, by almost every country, matt, that does business with us. i'm tired of it and a lot of other people are tired of it. i think the candidates know. i mean i left when i left because of the equal time provisions i'm not allowed t. eed to have a show and run. when i left i was leading in the polls.

>> i've known you for a long time. let me tie this up by asking you this isn't going to be all about donald trump . you're not going to use this as a way to get on center stage and talk about what you believe, this will truly be about the candidates, right?

>> i want a great candidate, a candidate that is going to beat president obama . it's very important. it's vital for this country. if we don't get that candidate, we are in big, big trouble because the country is in big, big trouble . it's being led down the drain.

>> let's talk about newt gingrich surging to the top of the polls in iowa. you're going to meet with him a little later today . as i already mentioned, he's agreed to show up at your debate. he made some controversial comments lately about the poor and jobs. i'll play them for you and get your reaction.

>> really poor children in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works. so they literally have no habit of showing up on monday. they have no habit of staying all day. they have no habit of i do this and you give me cash unless it's illegal.

>> maureen dowd in the "times" on sunday has he not heard of the working poor ? the problem isn't that these kids aren't working, it's that they don't have time with their parents who often toll day and night at more than one job and earn next to nothing. difficulties newt gingrich mischaracterize what's happening?

>> no, it may not be politically correct but it's the truth. one of the reasons he's surging is because he says it like it is. i like maureen dowd very much but in terms of what newt said, that's the way it is. he's looking at the inner city where obama has done nothing, he has done nothing for the inner cities and he wants to do something to get them going.

>> but the children in those inner city areas really have no role models who work?

>> well, i think you have a role model in president obama . let obama be the role model.

>> in their own families, though?

>> it hasn't turned out to be much of a role model. no, they don't have in many cases role models , matt, it's very sad. they do not have role models . so i know it's not a popular statement, but it happens to be true.

>> let's talk about mitt romney . obviously he's someone who has had a difficult time breaking through in the polls. he's going to be on the cover of "time" magazine this week and it says something to the effect of why don't people like me. what is it with mitt romney ? why has he had a difficult time either getting to or maintaining front runner status?

>> well, i'm actually a little surprised. he's a very attractive guy. i've gotten to know him very well. he's been up to the office a number of times. he really is a very good, solid person. he doesn't get traction. i've actually spoken to him about it. i don't understand. he's not getting traction.

>> does he have a problem with flip-flopping?

>> well, i don't think so. look, everybody changes their mind. we have, you have, i know for a fact you have over the years. we all change our minds or things. i think people have done a good job in saying that, but for some reason he doesn't get the traction. when herman goes out and herman i got to know very well and he's a good guy but has suffered greatly over the last few weeks. when herman , now you take those votes and divvy them up, in theory he should get a lot of those votes but he just doesn't seem to get traction. i don't know what it is.

>> you write over a lifetime i've seep many people who don't change and they always get left behind . smart people learn things and change their minds. only stupid people never change their minds. is it more important to you that you have a candidate that can beat barack obama or someone that sticks to conservative principles?

>> well, i actually think it's going to be a combination of both. i think you're really going to have a combination of both. but you do have to -- you know the fighters, you learn a lot from boxing. they have an expression. you have to go with the punches. you sort of have to go with the punches. and it's true. life changes, the world changes, things and events change. sometimes you change your mind . if you don't change your mind , you're stuck.

>> you are someone who's changed your mind as well and you're right, i have as well. have you completely ruled out a run for president even as a third party candidate?

>> well, as you know, and again the equal time professions don't allow me to run until may, when i'm a free agent and you happen to like because i have a very successful show on your network. i hope that's the reason you like me. anyway, but the fact is if the wrong candidate is nominated to run, if i think it's a candidate th that's not going to win and not very good and that could happen, i'm seeing some very good people an talented people and if the economy continues to be bad and i think it will because i think we have incompetent leadership i would certainly think about running.

>> you flirt wed this a lot in the past. i was in your office when you talked about it. but do people have a right to say at some point you talk the talk , roll up your sleeves and walk the walk?

>> absolutely. but i never really looked at it seriously until this year. people thought that i looked at it years ago because people wanted me to do it, twice. i looked at it once for a period of one week. i love what i'm doing, i love the real estate. in fact in my book which comes out today, i actually disclose the financial disclosure. i give it, and it tells my network.

>> how many billion dollars?

>> $7 billion and almost $300 million in cash. nobody ever knew that before. i've never disclosed it before. frankly i did it because i'm very proud of what i've been able to build. i built a great company and i'm proud of it.

>> donald trump , good to have you with us and thanks for your time this morning.

All Automotive Profits Leads Are certainly not Constructed Equal The ...

Depending on the source and the way theyre acquired, it can indicate the difference relating to an awesome lead source supplier and one that drains revenue from you for utterly ineffective automotive profits leads.

What constitutes successful automotive profits leads? Request any car seller and theyll say a thing like ?if I offer a car?. Although suitable, its crucial that you look at the big picture and also the methods it requires to acquire with the position where Mr. and Mrs. Smith are buying a car and signing the paperwork in your own workplace.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith began off for a few thinking about the purchase of the automobile. With Mr. Smiths lengthy hours at effort and Mrs. Smiths possessing her own business enterprise, they dont have the time to go into a dealership. They use a search engine to glance for the sort of car that theyre excited about. They land on your websites wanting to know some aspects with regards to the specified automobile they want. Its 2AM, the primary instant that Mr. Smith has had to himself in the week. He has issues. Who does he flip to?

This could go one in all two solutions: He could shell out five minutes on your websites looking for the solutions to his many different issues, and leave a message on your dealerships voicemail hoping that he can remedy the name the following day. Or, a seller chat representative can greet Mr. Smith, wish him a very good evening, and supply to become of support. With proven-effective scripts, a chat agent can stroll Mr. Smith through the method, remedy his issues, and get him set up to come into your dealership on his only day off: Saturday.

She gave a false phone variety, but a authentic e-mail address and said she ?might? be interested in buying sometime sooner or later. This was forwarded to you as an automotive profits lead. Any time a representative received through to her e-mail, Mrs. Smith wrote again that she wasnt available in the market nor would she be right until following calendar year. It was composed off for a poor lead.

But here there?re, one month later on, in your own workplace, signing paperwork for his or her new car. All of this from a quick hi there by means of a seller chat session at 2AM.

Though a fictional scenario, this seller chat position is widespread. With schedules the way in which there?re, a lot more people are turning with the the web to generate their looking much more handy. If Mr. Smith landed on your websites at 2AM, would he have been completely greeted and helped? Would you might have even recognized that he stopped by? Air Force X-37B space plane books additional time on orbital cruise, orders another margarita

If your secret space plane's in orbit and doing its secret thing well enough, why bother bringing it home? This appears to be the mindset of the Air Force regarding its experimental X-37B space plane, the billion-dollar robotic vehicle's orbital flight being extended beyond the 270 days it was initially designed for. While the Air Force has stated that the vehicle is meant only for conducting orbital science experiments, analysts say the X-37B is capable of much more, and could perform additional tasks such as acting as an orbital spy, sneaking up on and tampering with enemy satellites or hauling small batches of supplies to the International Space Station. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that the X-37B could stay in orbit for that much longer. Although the Air Force said last year that the X-37B could last nine months above the heavens before its power and fuel ran out, an inside source commented that "it sips power and fuel like a Prius." Click through the break for the full X-37B schematics, which -- crazily enough -- look nothing like a Prius.

Drafthouse Films acquires documentary on Golan and Globus (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) ? Drafthouse Films has acquired U.S. rights to a documentary about Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, the Israeli-born cousins who founded Cannon Films, the indie studio announced Thursday.

Drafthouse plans a theatrical release in late 2012 for "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films," coinciding with a traveling retrospective of Cannon's movies.

The film is currently in pre-production in Australia.

"Cannon Films was an enterprise that in many ways defined exploitation cinema of the 1980s," Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League said in a written statement. "We are thrilled to share their untold legacy with movie fans around the country."

Between 1979 and 1989, Cannon Films produced more than 120 movies, including colorfully titled sequels "Missing in Action 2: The Beginning," "Ninja 3: The Domination" and "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo."

The studio also produced "Masters of the Universe," the martial arts films "American Ninja" and arthouse films such as "Barfly."

The documentary was directed by Mark Hartley ("Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation!").

Drafthouse is the distribution arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
